Bodice and trim

A sewing marathon while staying at Sue’s place for a few days. Raided her Sewing Closet of Treasures and found some fringey trim for the neckline of the bodice, and pearls for some elegant swank.
The bodice is finished at last with the addition of the trim around the neck and bottom, finished the sleeve openings simply with brown bias tape. It fits nicely enough, and honestly it’s an comfy top. This could be remade for a new shirt or top with a skirt (well… a less ballgown skirt, that is)
So all put together now, it looks pretty cool. What’s left?

  1. I’d like to work in some playing cards tucked in here and there. Dice for earrings??
  2. a hat of course. It’s in progress. Must be well feathered
  3. I’m still wanting to make the dust ruffle to go under the skirt train, but if I don’t get it done, I won’t cry

JA! You look amazing!!!! What’s the dress for?! I didn’t know you were so talented!

The colour of the overskirt is different here. Must have been a lighting thingee! under skirt looks terrific!

Clever mother sees the difference between morning and evening light. The function will be in evening lighting, so I think this shade of brown is how it will come off at the event.

And thanks Nicole :) Wouldn’t this pattern make a pretty wedding dress? LOL. (Note: No exclamation marks were harmed in the typing of this reply.)
