He knows if you’ve been bad or good

decorate_IMG_2640The tree is up and decorated. And for all that we laughed at its scrawny branches, it doesn’t look too bad. Completely understandable that when it is minus 30 and you’re tree hunting in the wilds of Rocky Mountain House, you aren’t going to be as particular as you might have been in Christmases past (passed? past?) Christmases gone by.
I’m in charge of the lights. Then the first to hit the tree is always the Toronto Maple Leaf ornament. The last is the Evil Strawberry Clown. George gets the honours of hanging both of them. I don’t like to get too close to that clown thing. It’s creepy.
We’ve got cross-stitched ornaments from the Kovats, painted glass from the Layzell girls, a wooden star painted by my nephew Aymeric, the angel made by Kelly (Coach’s ‘mom’). Plenty of craft from George’s many years covering craft sales (often pronounced ‘crap’ sales).
It’s a funny little tree.

And I understand the “crap” reference. I have always called the group I have belonged to at the church for the last three years the “crappy crafts” And I have heard from others that that is their name for it too. I dropped out this year.

I think he purposely seeks out the ugly stuff. Good for you for refusing to create more. How about you start your own group for quality crafts?
