Hail storm came in from the east yesterday evening. I knew something was coming because the dog was stuck to my knee. Not a helpful arrangement as I sat on the floor with a glue gun, an opened package of 1500 gold sequins and a poofy pink tulle skirt, attempting some crafty work. (More on that in a later post)
Power outages just as Cabrerra was coming to the plate in the 6th. Signal didn’t come back until the penultimate swing of Rayburn’s pitiful strike-out to end the game and another loss for the boys.
The hail was HUGE and plentiful. I watched it hit the ‘temporary’ pond in our backyard and the splashes upward were astonishingly high. The wind direction made it shoot (or is that ‘chute’) down the slope of the roof and straight out. Deafening noise.
Poor Midget came in after it was all over, drenched and pitiful. The horses must have taken cover in the trees because I didn’t see them under their shelter in the corral. Not long after it had stopped there was an eerie mist rising from the ground. Ice fog in August? Two hours later when I went to bed the hail had not yet melted, still piled up on the deck.
This is just 45 seconds of what lasted at least 10 minutes. It’s just shooting off the roof. Banging and bouncing on the deck. The splashes in the pond were a foot high. Crazy hail.
Did your new toy get dinged??
Please keep all that weather out there. We have enough to deal with with the heat. Man it is hot!!
It’s a sure sign of the Apocalypse, or maybe you live too close to that new driving range
