Frolic the 13th is over and the house is empty again. Even I think it’s too quiet now, by comparison. The last of the guests rolled out by 4 p.m., but Levi didn’t come out from under the house until 10. Just being thorough, I guess.
This year’s new sport – Frisbee Golf proved to be a lot of fun, and tons more exercise than curling. There was plenty of snow to be trampled down out there in the meadows. Skiing conditions were perfect, and the snowshoers reported happy trails.
Weather could have been somewhat more friendly with less gusting winds. Monday – as always – was the best day, above zero and barely a breeze.
The meals this year included venison roast cooked by Randy, and butter chicken cooked by Bob. The soups were Tortilla soup, which we discovered on our Arizona vacation last spring and a meaty Bison Chili.
The balehouse guests have given our new stove the stamp of approval. Scourge experimented with different loading techniques, analysed the data returned, and presented his results before the weekend was over. Much appreciated!
So thank you visitors, Bob and Jennifer, Randy and Lynda, Nancy and Jeff, and John. Welcome back after a few year’s absence, Evan. And greetings to Scourge’s friend, a first timer, Eduarda. You’all come back now, hear?
Many thanks to our gracious and generous hostess and host. It was a superb weekend for all.
Looks like everyone had a good time! And I think I saw some nice wine glasses on the table.
MUCH USED wine glasses! Thank you for the (usual) grand time that was had. (Isn’t it y’all?)
